With reports of lots of Black Sea Nettles (Chrysaora achlyos) off of San Diego, it was time for a road trip down south.  It was a bumpy ride to and fro.  The nettles were 100 feet off of the kelp beds, just at the thermocline.  But once the sun came out they migrated into the kelp and could be found closer to the surface.  There were lots of them.
